Reworked Healing System in the Dark Forest

We have completely redesigned and centralized the healing system in the Dark Forest. This gives us far better control over who heals whom, when healing occurs, and which conditions must be met.

One of the first improvements affects your tag-team partner:
If your partner is able to heal and is in the same zone, they will now find and revive you much more frequently.

This new system brings more fairness, more consistency, and a much more reliable healing mechanic within the Dark Forest.

Change to the Advent Calendar

Today, on December 8th, the Advent calendar will be updated one last time at 12 PM as usual. Starting tomorrow, the update will then take place at 12 AM midnight German time every day.

Over the past few days, we’ve been working intensively on the dungeon logic, fixing several issues and even rewriting some core processes from scratch. Since then, we’ve completed over 200 dungeon runs without a single hang or delay – a very promising sign!

We’re confident that we’ve identified and resolved the root cause of the recent problems.
Of course, we can only be completely certain once more players have completed additional runs successfully. Time will tell whether the issue is now permanently and reliably fixed – but so far, things are looking great.

We’ll continue to closely monitor system behavior in the coming days to ensure that everything remains stable and smooth.

Alexa Speaks Again!

Good news, Knights!

The ongoing issues with Alexa’s voice output have finally been resolved last night (German time).

A huge thank you to our community! Thanks to your detailed reports, tests, and feedback, we were able to provide Amazon with the information they needed to identify and fix the problem.

We’re still waiting for an official statement regarding the exact technical cause, but as of now, the system appears to be fully stable again.

Once more, thank you to everyone who supported us over the past days with patience, feedback, and dedication.

Status Update

Some players still appear to be receiving occasional silent responses. We’ve therefore moved all sound files to the same endpoint as the skill itself – which allows us to rule out audio URLs as the cause.

Requests are processed correctly on our side, but some devices still remain silent from time to time. No errors are reported by Alexa or by the devices themselves.

We’re still waiting for a response from Amazon and will continue narrowing down the issue on our side in the meantime.

Outages

Hello Knights,

yesterday there was a major worldwide outage affecting the infrastructure provider Cloudflare. Many well-known online services were temporarily unreachable or showed error messages – and some of you were unable to use the Knight Manager skill or could only use it in a limited way.

What happened?
Cloudflare experienced a technical issue in its network system that prevented requests from reaching many services at all. Alexa connections were affected as well. For some players, this meant:

- Voice commands never reached our skill, which is why we couldn’t see any error messages on our side.
- Commands that needed to load sound or image files from cloud services were unable to retrieve those assets for a while. This resulted in empty or silent responses.

Is everything working again?
For most players, everything is back to normal.
A small number of players are still experiencing issues – but these are steadily decreasing.

What could still be causing problems?
Most likely DNS caching. During the outage, some routers, providers, or devices saved incorrect or incomplete DNS entries. Routers, ISPs, and Echo devices can keep these cached entries for several hours. As long as these old entries remain active, some devices may still be using the wrong route to reach our skill.

What you can try if the skill still isn’t working properly:
- Restart your router
- Unplug your Alexa device briefly
- Turn Wi-Fi off and on again
- On mobile devices: enable and disable airplane mode

Thank you for your patience. We understand how frustrating external outages can be. While our influence on this issue was and is very limited, we continue to keep a close eye on our systems.

Current Situation in the Dungeons

We’d like to give you a quick update regarding the current waiting times in the Dungeons. We’re aware that, especially on certain evenings – most notably on the day when the dungeons reset – waiting times can increase. During those moments, a very large number of groups are trying to enter the dungeons at the same time, which temporarily puts a higher load on the system.

We’re actively working on a long-term solution and have already made several adjustments behind the scenes. These changes are currently being tested and monitored so we can fine-tune them further. Our goal is clear: to noticeably reduce waiting times and improve the experience for everyone.

That said, we kindly ask you to keep in mind that on specific days – especially around the dungeon reset – increased waiting times may still occur. This is simply due to the high number of groups starting their dungeon runs simultaneously.

Clarification on Routines and Energy Limit

over the past few days, we’ve received some feedback that we’d like to address openly.

1. Routines are not cheating
To be absolutely clear: using routines is not forbidden and we do not consider it cheating.

2. Energy limit = balance update
The limit of 5,000 energy per hour is purely a balance change. Its purpose is to keep the game fair and stable for everyone. It is not a punishment and is not aimed at any individual player.

3. Respectful community
We know the competition for glory and rank can get intense at times. Still, we ask everyone to treat fellow knights with respect. Accusations or personal attacks don’t help anyone and only take away from the enjoyment of the game.

We truly value the passion you bring to Knight Manager and are grateful for all the feedback we receive. With your support, we can continue to grow and improve the game — building a community where every knight feels welcome.

during the season transition, a bug caused the hunting skill “Hail of Arrows” to be purchasable for a short time, even though this was never intended.

We have now fixed this issue. All players who unlocked the skill during that period have automatically received a refund of the purchase price.

In addition, players who, due to the same bug, advanced one adventure further will not be able to complete an adventure today — ensuring that all knights are once again on the same progress level.

We are aware that this topic has caused some discussion. However, in the past days our focus had to remain on more critical issues to ensure the game runs smoothly for everyone.

Please understand that we always act first where stability and proper functionality of the game are most important.

Changes to the Dark Tower

Knights,
we have removed the Tower Keys – even after several adjustments, they did not create the gameplay experience we intended.

If you manage to reach the highest level of the tower, you can attack Azrael directly after the waiting period – without any further restrictions. Only your available energy determines how often you can challenge him. The shared hit point pool will remain in place.

Azrael will automatically enter the final phase once he has either completed his preparations or his hit points have been reduced to 50% through direct attacks.

Please note: During this season, the mechanics of the Dark Tower may still change. Be prepared – the battle against Azrael may hold new surprises in store.

Task Adjustments Based on Your Performance

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been tracking which tasks of the outpost were completed and how many players managed to finish them. The data clearly showed that some tasks were too difficult for most knights.

As a result, we’ve adjusted several of these tasks today to make them a bit easier.

Further adjustments may be made at any time based on player feedback and data.

Tower Rewards

From now on, you can expect various possible finds on each floor of the Tower – just like you're used to in the Dungeons. In addition to diamonds, gold, and servants, you can now also discover additional items that can make your climb even more rewarding.

At the same time, we've reworked the rewards on each floor: the amounts of diamonds, gold, and servants have been standardized, making the loot fairer for all knights – regardless of which floor you're on.

Outpost
